Manchester City train in the Abu Dhabi heat as a key player returns to training

Manchester City have been enjoying the sun during their mid-season training camp in Abu Dhabi. The champions have travelled to the Middle East for a mid-season training camp as they prepare for the second half of the season. Pep Guardiola’s side has put themselves in a good position to attack the second half of the season. They’ll be hoping the time spent in Abu Dhabi will pay dividends later in the campaign.

In a gallery shared on mancity.com, there was good news on the injury front. Manchester City keeper Ederson was pictured training after his injury against Newcastle. City’s number-one keeper was substituted early on during City’s 3-2 win at St.James Park after suffering a knock. However, the image shared indicates that Ederson has recovered from the injury.

As it stands there is currently no update available on a trio of injured Manchester City stars. Erling Haaland, John Stones and Manuel Akanji weren’t pictured in the images shared by the club. Pep Guardiola informed the media before his side’s win against Newcastle that he was hopeful of having the trio back in February. With the fixture list set to ramp up the treble winners will be hoping for some positive injury news on the trio while the club is in Abu Dhabi.

At the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, Erling Haaland expressed his frustration at his time on the sidelines. After receiving his Best Men’s Player award he said: “I hope to be back really soon from injury. I’m getting bored of not playing!

Manchester City are next in action against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup 4th round at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Friday the 26th of January. The game will kick off at 2000 (UK time).
