Esteemed Kompany preview of Manchester City vs Newcastle at St. James Park

Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney previews Manchester City’s Premier League match against Newcastle United. The game will take place at St. James Park on Saturday evening. It will be Pep Guardiola’s side’s last game before their midseason break.

For the champions, Pep Guardiola told the media during his pre-game press conference that Kevin De Bruyne is ready to start games. Could the Belgian star start for City against Newcastle? He made his return last weekend in the second half of City’s win against Huddersfield Town. De Bruyne looked fit and ready to help his side fire in the second half of the season. Whether or not Kevin De Bruyne starts will be a story to watch for when the starting lineups are announced. If De Bruyne does play with in-form pair Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden it could create a deadly trio for the world champions.

Saturday’s game will be a tough test for the treble winners. Eddie Howe’s side is a different proposition at St. James Park and will be desperate for three points to keep in touch with the top four on the Premier League table. The champions will be expecting a hard game against Newcastle. While the Magpies are suffering from injury they will be determined to get a result against Pep Guardiola’s side. City will have to face Newcastle without Erling Haaland, John Stones and Manuel Akanji who will all miss the match with injury.

Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney looks at all of this and more in the video below. He gives his predicted eleven, previews the game and more as City prepare to take on Newcastle.
