Manchester City’s Norwegian starlet Oscar Bobb was always destined for the top. In an interview with Simon Bajkowski of Manchester Evening News his former youth coach Mikal Aaserud explained how talented the young attacker was as a junior.
Aaserud explained that Bobb was a phenomenon in Norway as a junior. He explained: “What was worrying as a coach for a young player like that was he became a phenomenon in Norway. In Norway we don’t have that many crazy big talents so when we have one or two in the year he was born, 2003, people come to see him. That is very strange.”
Pep Guardiola’s side is now beginning to reap the benefits of Bobb’s prodigious talent and potential. He has seized his opportunity with the Manchester City first-team and looks like he is set to become a key player for the club for years to come.
While this season has been a learning experience for the Norwegian starlet it’s clear he is on his way to becoming a key contributor for this season. He played a key role in the second half of City’s 2-nil win over Sheffield United. Bobb also started in last weekend’s 5-nil win over Huddersfield Town. What has been more telling with City having key players return from injury Bobb has begun to shine.
The first steps for the Norwegian starlet began back in Norway as it appeared he was destined for the top. Now the world champions are starting to see that talented young lad blossom into a serious player. If his debut season in Peo Guardiola’s side is a guide it’s only a matter of time before Bobb becomes a phenomenon at Manchester City.
