Recent comments from Napoli star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent show that Manchester City now sits at the big boy table of European football. After an era of sustained success the champions have now become one of the top destination clubs in football.
Speaking with 1TV Sport Georgia in an interview which was relayed by CalcioNapoli24 the agent of Kvaratskhelia Mamuka Jugeli explained that Manchester City would be one of four clubs the dynamic winger would consider signing for. He explained: “Napoli increased Osimhen’s contract, but Khvicha wouldn’t accept a transfer to Saudi even if he offered him a billion euros. For example, he would probably agree to play for Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona or Manchester City. Khvicha has different desires and goals: he wants to succeed, and he is already achieving it.”
The thought of Kvaratskhelia signing is an exciting prospect. He has become one of the most exciting young players in Europe during his spell with Napoli. He has previously been linked with the European champions by Graeme Bailey of TEAMtalk.
But that is a topic for another day. The comments of the Napoli star’s agent highlights Manchester City’s standing in the modern game. They have become one of the top destinations for elite players. Now Manchester City have taken their place at the big boy table as a destination club alongside European giants Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. On the back of sustained success it is a fitting place for the European champions. Their success has placed them amongst the upper echelon of clubs in Europe.
It remains to be seen if a Manchester City move for Kvaratskhelia will ever materialise. If he does eventually decide to leave Napoli City may be in the race for the star.
