The England international bagged a brace and was his side’s most influential player while he was on the pitch. It speaks volumes of just how much Foden has grown that the type of performance he put in yesterday is becoming the norm. He was at his best as he led from the front in City’s win.

The pair have raised their games in recent weeks and set the stage for the second half of the season for Manchester City. It is a frightening thought for City’s rivals as the second half of the season begins.
Kevin De Bruyne also made his long-awaited return from injury during the second half of yesterday’s win. It had been a long time coming with the midfielder out since August. He showed in his cameo appearance that he had lost none of his quality and looks set to make a mark on this season. His assist to set up Jeremy Doku was one of many highlights for the treble winners.
