Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney needs to talk about how special a player Oscar Bobb is. City fans were treated to another sparkling cameo from the Norwegian wonderkid in Manchester City’s 2-nil win over Sheffield United.
Bobb came off the bench early in the second half of Pep Guardiola’s side’s win at the weekend. He put in a dazzling display which again emphasised his prodigious talent. The ball he played for Phil Foden to set up City’s second goal through Julian Alvarez was one of the best passes this Premier League season. It was just another small snippet of what type of player Bobb could become.
While this season has been a learning experience for the youngster he has also developed his game. He has benefitted from training with the City first team and also earned his first senior cap for Norway. He has also scored his first senior goal for his country this season and his first goal for the Manchester City senior side. His goal against Red Star Belgrade was another glimpse into his talent.
There a similarities to a Manchester City legend in David Silva in Bobb’s game. His ability to find a pass and maintain possession in tight spaces is reminiscent of the Spanish wizard. If the City wonderkid can develop into a player half as good as the Manchester City legend then the champions will have a special player on their hands.
