(Video) Steven Mcinerney reviews City’s 3-1 win over Everton thanks to a Phil Foden masterclass

Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney reviews Manchester City’s 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park. It was a vital win for Pep Guardiola’s side after their draw against Crystal Palace last time out in the Premier League.

Goals from Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva clinched an impressive comeback win for the treble winners. Everton winger Jack Harrison opened the scoring for the hosts as the Toffees in the first half. The hosts capitalised on a series of errors at the back from City in the 28th minute. The champions still need to address this issue going forward as it continues to cost City. On other days the treble winners couldn’t overcome the mistakes but they did against Sean Dyche’s side.

Phil Foden was in inspired form as he led the way in the comeback win. After trailing 1-nil at half-time the England international lifted his side when it was needed most. He scored the equaliser and tormented the Everton defence in a masterclass from the midfielder. City have been crying out for a leader in Kevin De Bruyne’s absence and it was one of their own who inspired the victory.

It was a fantastic performance from Pep Guardiola’s side against a tricky opponent. Steven Mcinerney gives his thoughts on the performance, Foden’s masterclass and more in the video below.
