Manchester City’s place in English football history is now secure. They have become the first side to hold the Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. Yesterday’s 4-nil win over Fluminense cemented their place in football history. Despite having its detractors Pep Guardiola’s sides place among the great sides in football history and its legacy is now locked away.
As is par for the course whenever Manchester City win the usual chorus of critics can be found. It is almost as regular as clockwork the moment the treble winners add to their trophy cabinet someone is there to diminish their achievements.
Manchester City Champions of the World. It’s been a difficult and arduous journey. The hard work has paid off. Today is not a day to talk about 115 alleged rule breaches, nor an investigation that has dragged on 5 years. All of that can wait. Ignore it for now.

While Manchester City are currently under investigation by the Premier League and faces 115 charges, now is not the time to go over that subject. It will have its day when the case concludes.
It is time to savour the football that Pep Guardiola and his side produce. Marvel at the genius that is Bernardo Silva. Enjoy the rapid rise of Phil Foden as he scales football’s greatest heights at age 23. Take in what Julian Alvarez has achieved despite his tender age. The list of superb achievements in this Manchester City side is plentiful. This squad should be lauded for the history makers that they are. Their achievements may never be seen again.
The detractors have been constant during Manchester City’s era of success. It’s time everyone stopped and appreciated a level of success that may not be seen again. Instead of trying to shoot it down every step of the way.
