Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney reacts to Manchester City’s Champions League Round of 16 draw from yesterday. The defending European champions were drawn against FC Copenhagen in the next stage of the tournament.
Pep Guardiola’s side will face off against the runners-up of Group A in the Champions League. The Danish side got through a tough group to finish second behind Bayern Munich. They also sealed qualification for the Round of 16 finishing above Galatasaray and Manchester United. It is only the second time in their history that FC Copenhagen have made it through the group stage of the Champions League.
While Manchester City would be expected to progress over the Danish side they will be no pushover. Under manager Jacob Neestrup FC Copenhagen play an open and attacking brand of football so an enthralling Round of 16 tie may lie ahead for Pep Guardiola’s side.
