Kevin De Bruyne, Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland will all not feature at the FIFA Club World Cup

Kevin De Bruyne, Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland will not feature for Manchester City at the FIFA Club World Cup. The trio are all ruled out due to injury concerns and won’t be risked in Saudi Arabia.

Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail reported on Manchester City withdrawing Erling Haaland from their squad for the FIFA World Club Cup. The news broke before Manchester City’s semi-final clash against AFC Champions League winners Urawa Red Diamonds. He is joined by Jeremy Doku and Kevin De Bruyne as being ruled out of the tournament.

City’s number 9 is currently sidelined due to a foot injury. His foot issue hasn’t recovered in time for Haaland to feature in the FIFA Club World Cup. The treble winners will be hoping to have their top scorer back for their Premier League clash with Everton following their duties in Saudi Arabia.

Dynamic winger Jeremy Doku has been sidelined since the 3-all draw with Tottenham. He limped off just after half-time with what Gaughan reports as a hamstring injury. There is currently no timeline available on Doku’s return.

Kevin De Bruyne wasn’t expected to feature at the Club World Cup. He has resumed training with the City first team as he steps up his recovery from hamstring surgery. The Belgian midfielder has been out since the opening day of the Premier League season. With the midfielder resuming full training it does appear only a matter of time before he returns to the pitch for Manchester City.
