Joshua Kimmich does seem to be an ideal target for the European champions in January. With his experience and versatility, he could immediately slot into a role in Pep Guardiola’s side. He also has on-field leadership qualities which currently appear lacking for the champions. With his ability to play right-back, or in midfield he could also add assistance for Rodri in midfield or step in for Kyle Walker when required.
Pep Guardiola was asked about City’s plans for the January transfer window. He told the media he left that Txiki Begiristain and co. He said: “I don’t think about that for one second. Txiki (Begiristain) is in this role for this. We talk, but now we have a lot of games, and many, many important ones and I’m focussed on that.”
It could be a busy window for Manchester City in January. With Kalvin Phillips appearing set to leave the club it does appear that a midfielder may be on the agenda. Joshua Kimmich could be an ideal candidate for City to bolster the squad.
