Valentin Barco is reportedly adamant on joining Manchester City

Boca Juniors young starlet Valentin Barco is reportedly adamant on joining Manchester City. The Argentinean youth international has become one of the most sought after young talents in football. Steve Kay of footballtransfers.com has reported that the young full-back wants to join the European champions.

Included in Kay’s report is the fact that Barco’s representatives visited City’s training facilities in the past week. Kay adds that it is expected that Barco will join the treble winners in January. Furthermore, it is also reported that there is a €10 million release clause in the young full-back’s contract. The release clause would mean a cut price deal for the young defender for Manchester City.

Valentin Barco has become one of the most sought after young players in world football. Italian outlet Calciomercato have previously reported of Liverpool being interested in the defender. Brighton and Juventus were also interested in signing Barco according to Alex Smith and Alan Nixon of the Sun.

If Manchester City can seal the deal for Valentin Barco it would give them another viable option at left-back. Currently Josko Gvardiol and Nathan Ake share duties on the left-hand side of City’s defence. The young Boca Juniors full-back is a specialist left-back so he would appear to be ready to step into Pep Guardiola’s first team squad.

It could be a busy month in the January transfer window for the treble winners. With Kalvin Phillips future appearing to lie away from the Etihad it may force City into the market. If Barco does arrive he may be one of several incomings in January at Manchester City.
