Even New York is blue just like Manchester as the Empire State Building honours the treble winners

The Empire State Building in New York has put on a spectacular tribute to Manchester City’s treble trophy tour arriving in the city. The trophies Manchester City won during their historical 22/23 season have toured the globe as part of the Treble Trophy Tour.

The trophies have so far visited countries such as Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and the UAE to name a few. The tour is currently in the United States as the Treble Trophy Tour continues.

With the Empire State Building turning blue it shows just how much Manchester City have grown. The club is now a global powerhouse and has support in all corners of the globe. It’s been a remarkable rise for the club which is now considered one of the biggest clubs in world football. It was less than 25 years ago in 1999 when the club was in the old Second Division (League One) beating Gillingham in the famous Second Division Playoff final.

Since that moment the club has risen to become the dominant force in English football since 2008. From the moment Sheikh Mansour took over City it has risen to become the current European champions. Manchester City will be looking to create more history when they compete in the FIFA Club World Cup later this month.

With Manchester being blue after City’s 3-nil derby victory over Manchester United earlier this season, New York has followed suit with a spectacular display which can be seen in the video below. Manchester City cannot be considered a small club when they are dominating the New York skyline.
