Manchester City’s flying winger warns his best is yet to come

Manchester City’s flying Belgian winger Jeremy Doku has warned that his best is yet to come. The young Belgian international has made a flying start to his City career since arriving in the summer from Rennes.

In an interview on mancity.com, the electrifying youngster believes he will get better under Pep Guardiola. He explained: “He can take me to the next level. That’s also why I took this chance to come here because I know the manager and I know how he can help me to reach the top. He helps me a lot, especially on the details and he lets me be myself because you can see on the pitch that I am just being myself.”

Since arriving at Manchester City Doku has thrived under Pep Guardiola. The winger has made 18 appearances, scored 4 goals and added 6 assists in all competitions. There is a sense of anticipation at the Etihad anytime the exciting winger gets on the ball. His performance in City’s 6-1 win over Bournemouth earlier this season showed how dangerous Doku can be. He scored one and had 4 assists as he helped his side claim an emphatic win.

The young winger had a warning for the rest of the Premier League that he can improve. He added: “I can always be better, be more efficient and help the team more in the final third. Those are some parts of the game that I can still work on, so it’s not perfect. But I think I am having a good start and I just need to keep going.

It is a dangerous proposition for Manchester City’s opponents the thought of Jeremy Doku getting better. He has shown glimpses already of the player he can become in time.

Doku and his teammates will be in action later today at the Etihad against Tottenham. The youngster will be holing to again impress against Ange Postecoglu’s side.
