Could a Bayern Munich stalwart become a Manchester City transfer target?

Could Bayern Munich stalwart Joshua Kimmich find his way to Manchester City? The German international has been linked with a move from the Bundesliga champions and Manchester City has been reported as a possible destination.

German transfer guru Christian Falk has reported in his daily briefing column that Kimmich’s future at Bayern is in doubt. Falks reports that after the German midfielder lost his spot in Thomas Tuchel’s starting eleven he may consider his future with the club. In addition, Falk reports that Tuchel doesn’t see Kimmich as a number 6. Furthermore, he adds that Kimmich’s current deal with the German giants expires in 2025.

In addition to reporting that Kimmich is considering his future at Bayern, Falk adds that City, Liverpool and Barcelona could be interested in his services. The transfer guru adds that Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the player. Guardiola promoted the Bayern Munich stalwart to the first team during his time as Bayern manager. He also adds that Liverpool could also be in the market for Kimmich as he suits their style of play.

As a player, Kimmich would in theory be an ideal addition to the European champions squad. He has the versatility to player across midfield in multiple roles or at right back. He would fit the bill as another player who could fulfil multiple roles for the treble winners which is seen as a valuable asset at Manchester City. His previous experience playing under Pep Guardiola would also be a bonus as he would know what to expect from the City manager.

At this stage, it is only speculative link of a possible City move for Kimmich. But on paper, he could be the ideal signing to add to Pep Guardiola’s squad.
