Manchester City 1 Liverpool 1: City player ratings

Manchester City and Liverpool have played out a tense 1-all draw at the Etihad. Erling Haaland opened the scoring for Manchester City in the 27th minute after a brilliant assist from Nathan Ake. The game was a tense and tight affair following Haaland’s opener with both sides respecting each other and picking their moments. Trent Alexander-Arnold equalised for Liverpool in the 80th minute after a well-worked move saw the Liverpool man equalise for his side. Both sides had to settle for a point in a tightly contested encounter. Here are the City player ratings from the 1-all draw at the Etihad.

Manchester City player ratings:

Ederson-8/10: Made some crucial saves and his passing was a particular highlight and a constant weapon for Pep’s side. He could do nothing about Alexander-Arnold’s equaliser.

Kyle Walker- 7/10: Walker was rarely beaten down City’s right. Offered a threat when City had possession in another polished performance from Walker.

Manuel Akanji- 8/10: Was brilliant across midfield and in defence. His composure on the ball and at the back was a highlight. Performed the Stones role to perfection.

Ruben Dias- 7/10: Looked back to his best. Has started the season slowly but looked to be rediscovering his best form as City face a tough run of fixtures.

Nathan Ake- 7.5/10: Kept Salah relatively quiet and his assist for Haaland’s goal was magnificent. A great all-round performance from Ake.

Rodri- 7.5/10: Dictated midfield for the majority and was at the heart of many City attacks. A good performance from Rodei after a poor showing by his lofty standards against Chelsea.

Bernardo Silva- 8.5/10: A brilliant performance by Bernardo. Was all over the pitch and dictated the game well. He is easily the best player in the Premier League on his current form.

Phil Foden- 6/10: Toiled away but couldn’t quite get into the game. Had one effort well saved by Alisson in the first half.

Jeremy Doku- 8/10: Doku tormented Alexander-Arnold for the majority of the game. Was unlucky not to set up or score in another sparkling performance from the Belgian winger.

Julian Alvarez- 6/10: Toiled away but looked tired after his efforts for Argentina. Had chances to make his mark but wasn’t his day.

Erling Haaland- 7.5/10: Opened the scoring and was a menace throughout. Chances didn’t quite fall his way to double City’s lead. His all-round display was brilliant despite coming into the game under an injury cloud.
