Erling Haaland is set to be fit for Manchester City’s top-of-the-table blockbuster with Liverpool next weekend. Haaland was ruled out of Norway’s upcoming European Championship qualifier against Scotland with a foot injury he sustained against the Faroe Islands.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Haaland’s injury isn’t serious. He also reports that City’s number 9 will be fit for next weekend’s clash with Jurgen Klopp’s high-flying Liverpool side. Furthermore, he adds that Haaland didn’t want to risk further injury against Scotland and will be back regularly for Manchester City following the international break.

The news of Erling Haaland being fit will be a boost for City ahead of next weekend’s blockbuster. Haaland is Manchester City’s top scorer this season with 17 goals in 18 games. He has also scored 9 goals in his past 6 games for the treble winners.
It has been a busy week of injury news at Manchester City. Nathan Ake, Ederson, Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes have all withdrawn from international duty due to injury concerns. Rodri withdrew from Spain’s win over Cyprus after feeling some discomfort. Mateo Kovacic has subsequently been ruled out for 2-3 weeks with a quad injury. He joins Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones and Sergio Gomez in the treatment room.
Pep Guardiola will be hoping for more positive news this week at the end of the international period. Manchester City will need all hands on deck ahead of a crucial block of fixtures.
