Manchester City continue to push for a new contract for Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker has excelled since arriving at the Etihad and the champions are determined to sign their star man to a fresh contract.
Graeme Bailey reports for 90min.com that the treble winners are keen to strike a new deal with their number 9. Bailey reports that Manchester City are keen to remove a specific release clause in Haaland’s contract. He adds that the clause City want to remove doesn’t become active until 2025. Furthermore, Bailey adds that if the Haaland camp doesn’t want the clauses removed City are willing to keep the clause in Haaland’s contract but increase the release clause instead of removing it entirely. Bailey adds that there were some clauses removed from Haaland’s contract when Pep Guardiola extended his contract last December.

Spanish publication AS reported that Haaland could be a transfer target for Real Madrid next summer. AS adds that Erling Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta was recently at the Bernabeu for the Real Madrid/Braga UEFA Champions League clash. Pimenta denied there were any talks between her and Real Madrid in regards to Erling Haaland when asked.
Graeme Bailey’s report follows on from. Jack Gaughan’s report for the Daily Mail in early October of City intending to start talks with Haaland over a new deal. It is not a surprise that Manchester City are making moves to secure a new deal for their number 9. Haaland has scored 17 goals in 18 games so far this season continuing from his record-breaking exploits from last season.
