Manchester City players in action overnight

Manchester City players were in action overnight for their countries. It will be a busy international period for several City players with the Euro 24 qualifiers coming to an end and various other World Cup qualifiers and friendlies on the agenda.

For Portugal, Bernardo Silva got through 61 minutes in their 2-nil win over Liechtenstein. Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester City loanee Joao Cancelo were on the scoresheet for the Portuguese in their routine win.

Bernardo Silva put in a polished display before being substituted. It was a typical busy display from the City midfielder before he was substituted just after the hour mark. Ruben Dias was an unused substitute.

Oscar Bobb scored his first international goal for Norway in their 2-nil friendly win over the Faroe Islands. It was a special moment for the City Academy graduate. Bobb also set up Norway’s opener in the third minute for Jorgen Strand Larson. Bobb’s cross set up Larson to open the scoring.

The City youngster got himself on the scoresheet in the 24th minute with a spectacular strike. He scored with a near post strike from outside the box to grab Norway’s second.

Erling Haaland came on in the second half but didn’t get on the scoresheet. There was an injury scare for City’s number 9 but he completed the game.

Rodri didn’t feature for Spain in their 3-1 win over Cyprus. Miguel Angel Diaz reported pre-game that Rodri was rested after feeling discomfort before Spain’s win. At this stage there isn’t any update on Rodri’s fitness or if he will be available for Spain’s next match against Georgia.

Manchester City’s injury concerns are mounting with Haaland and Rodri’s situation adding to a lengthy injury toll.
