Nathan Ake misses City’s clash due to injury

Nathan Ake will miss today’s clash with Chelsea due to injury. The Dutch international hasn’t travelled with the Manchester City squad to London and isn’t named on the bench for the game at Stamford Bridge.

Simon Bajkowski of Manchester Evening News broke the news of Ake missing the game due to injury.

The injury suffered by Nathan Ake is unknown at this time. With the international break coming up after City’s clash with Chelsea it will be interesting to see if the Dutch international meets up with his national team over the break.

All eyes will turn to Pep Guardiola’s post-game press conference for an update on the injury suffered by Ake. The defender trained with the City squad on Friday ahead of Sunday’s game but wasn’t a part of the travelling squad as the City squad departed for London.

Ake has made 15 appearances for City so far this season. He has added two goals in those games. His versatility and reliability make him an important part of the City squad.

Pep Guardiola will speak to the media following Manchester City’s clash with Chelsea. An update on the status of Nathan Ake is expected. With the European champions not in action again until the 25th of November at home to Liverpool, there will be time for the versatile defender to recover before the treble winners next Premier League match.
