Will Manchester City’s recent form continue against Bournemouth? Pep Guardiola’s side have begun to click into gears in recent games. Wins against Brighton, Young Boys and Manchester United have seen signs of City beginning to build into the season.

The European champions welcome Bournemouth to the Etihad on Saturday. City won both meetings with the visitors last season by a combined score of 8-1. They won 4-nil at the Etihad and 4-1 at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth have struggled against City in the league losing all 12 of their Premier League meetings with the treble winners.

City will head into the game full of confidence on the back of recent performances. They dominated Manchester United in the Manchester derby with a resounding 3-nil win. The game saw glimpses of the Premier League champions at their best. After a tight first 10 minutes, Guardiola’s side dominated en route to a resounding 3-nil win.

Recent signs do point to the treble winners beginning to change gears for the 23/24 season. After 6 wins to begin the Premier League season, two losses to Wolves and Arsenal followed. Since the defeat at the Emirates, it does appear that the machine is beginning to rumble.

The side that started the derby all appear to be hitting form. City’s eleven from the derby appears to be the best eleven with the continued absence of Kevin De Bruyne. With Erling Haaland up front and Julian Alvarez, Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden in the lineup, it is starting to look like a City side hitting on all cylinders. With Rodri and John Stones back in the side it gives Pep Guardiola’s side the midfield dominance they need to shine.

If Manchester City’s recent form continues against Bournemouth it will indicate they are building into the season.
