Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad are unfazed by a busy schedule. The City manager has told the media in his pre-game press conference for the champions clash with Bournemouth that his side relishes playing every three days.
Guardiola was asked if a week between games would help his side. The treble winners have had a busy start to the season following on from last season’s treble. Guardiola told the media: “We love to play every three days but it’s nice to have a break and have one or two days off. Rejuvenated. It is what it is. We don’t complain when we have a lot of games in a row and we don’t complain when we have time off.”
The City manager also explained that winning the Premier League is getting harder every season. His side is chasing their fourth consecutive league title this season. This season has seen Tottenham improve and Arsenal pick up from last season’s runners-up finish. Liverpool have also built a stronger squad for the 23/24 season.
Guardiola explained: “Every season is tougher. Compared to when I arrived, there are better managers and better teams. The important thing is we are close, and we are there. There are still 28 games to play, and a lot of things are going to happen. But we aim to keep getting better.”
Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad will look to continue their good form at home against Bournemouth. They have dominated the fixture in recent seasons and beat the Cherries twice last season. No game is a foregone conclusion in the Premier League so the European champions will be looking to add another win as they build into the middle part of the season.
