Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney previews Sunday’s derby between Manchester City and Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The local rivals will clash at Old Trafford with both coming into the game following wins in midweek. City beat Young Boys 3-1 courtesy of a late Erling Haaland brace. United come into the derby after a 1-nil win over FC Copenhagen thanks to a Harry Maguire header.
The game will also feature tributes to the late Sir Bobby Charlton. The Manchester United and England legend passed away a week ago and both sides will honour one of the legends of the game.
Both sides will be chasing the three points to get one over their local rival, and to keep pace with early season leaders Tottenham Hotspur.
City will head to Old Trafford without Manuel Akanji. The Swiss defender will serve a one-match suspension for the red card he received last weekend against Brighton. Pep Guardiola also told the media after the win over Young Boys that Foden missed that game due to a small issue. It will be revealed an hour before kickoff if Foden gets up for the derby.
Manchester United could welcome back Casemiro for the clash with City. Erik ten Hag told the media pre-game that the Brazilian midfielder was in a race against time to be fit for the clash. Defenders Luke Shaw, Aaron Wann-Bissaka and Lisandro Martinez are all out for the Red Devils.
