Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney is joined by Jay Motty of the Stretford Paddock to preview City’s opposition this week which is Manchester United. They also preview match ahead between the fierce local rivals. This weekend sees the blue and red sides of Manchester clash in the 191st Manchester derby.
The pair look at how City’s opponents Manchester United have fared so far this season. The Red Devils currently sit 8th in the Premier League table. They made a slow start to this season as pressure mounted on manager Erik ten Hag. But they have won three consecutive games in all competitions heading into the derby. Their most recent win was a hard-fought 1-nil win over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League.
It has been a struggle in front of goal so far this season for Ten Hag’s side. Their top scorer in all competitions is defensive midfielder Casemiro with 4 goals. The issues in front of goal is highlighted by the fact Marcus Rashford has only scored once so far this season. Rashford has tormented City in recent seasons and scored the winner in this fixture last year as United won 2-1 in controversial fashion.
Manchester City head into the game after two consecutive wins in all competitions. Wins over Brighton and Young Boys have the treble winners in good form heading into the game.
