Jack Grealish has reminded everyone of his quality with a near man-of-the-match performance against Young Boys. Pep Guardiola defended Grealish pre-game and he responded with a quality performance. He was arguably City’s most dangerous creative player in the 3-1 win.
The City winger had started the season slowly with an injury against Sheffield United and Jeremy Doku’s form had combined to keep Grealish out of the starting eleven. City’s England international had to bide his time as he built up his form and touch on his return from a dead leg.
But against Young Boys, Jack Grealish was at his best. He was a constant threat to the Young Boys defence and even switched to the right wing on occasions. Grealish looked as if his form and touch had returned as he put in his best performance of the season over the 90 minutes. He was unlucky not to score or have a couple of assists as his teammates just failed to put the chances away he created.
Jack Grealish continually creating chances for his City teammates, only for them to miss.
He could’ve easily had three assists so far in this first half.

The performance from Grealish was a huge positive for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola during the win. He was one of City’s key players during last season’s treble clinching run and he adds a different dimension to the City setup.
Jack Grealish responded to his manager’s defence of him against Young Boys. It was a welcome sight for Manchester City with Sunday’s derby on the horizon and a long season still ahead. Grealish looking back to his best was just one of many positives for City in the win in Switzerland.
