(Video) Manuel Akanji and Pep Guardiola speak before City’s clash with Young Boys

Manuel Akanji and Pep Guardiola have spoken with the media before City’s Champions League clash with Young Boys. The pair addressed several issues before the European champions clash with the Swiss Super League champions at the Wankdorf Stadium.

City defender Manuel Akanji was asked about his team’s hunger to conquer Europe again. He told the media: “I want to go again this season and win all that’s possible. Unfortunately we can’t win the Carabao Cup but all the other competitions I hope we can fight for them and hopefully lift some more trophies this year.”

City boss Pep Guardiola addressed the synthetic pitch at the Wankdorf Stadium. City arrived earlier than usual to train at the Wankforf stadium. Pep said: “The grass is better. Because 99.9% of the teams who play in high level play on grass, otherwise Uefa and Fifa would decide to play on artificial pitch. It’s common sense I would say. It is what it is. If Uefa allows games to be played here it’s because it’s in good conditions. That’s one of the reasons we never train away (to ensure we have our own surface) but this is an exception.”

Manuel Akanji and Pep Guardiola also addressed a multitude of other topics ahead of the treble winners clash with Young Boys.
