Manchester City have a full squad available besides De Bruyne ahead of clash with Brighton

Manchester City have almost a full squad to choose from for Saturday’s clash with Brighton at the Etihad. The only player missing for the Premier League champions will be Kevin De Bruyne who is out until the New Year. Pep Guardiola confirmed that all Manchester City players had returned fit and ready for Saturday’s game.

Speaking in his press conference before City’s clash with the Seagulls Guardiola was asked about the condition of his squad. He said: “All good. No problems, except Kevin.”

Guardiola also explained the situation with John Stones and England. Pep said: “We were a little bit concerned. We spoke with Gareth Southgate; we have an incredible relationship. We were concerned because Stones didn’t play one minute in the last two months and then to play for the (England) national team. He was so important, and we could not use him. We’re happy he got minutes but what if he gets injured? So, he plays some minutes and comes off. They love to play for their countries, I never say not go there. But if a player plays few, few minutes, we are concerned but thankfully everything was right and he’s ready for next games.”

Stones only returned to the City squad as a substitute in the 1-nil loss to Arsenal before the international break. He hadn’t played since the FA Community Shield before that appearance.

It is welcome news for Manchester City to have all of the players available besides Kevin De Bruyne following the international break. They will also welcome back Rodri who has served his three-game suspension following his red card against Nottingham Forest.

The treble winners will need all hands on deck ahead of a busy month of fixtures. City will play 6 times in three weeks before the next international break.
