Toni Kroos is undecided on his playing future after previously being linked with a move to Manchester City. Reports earlier this week indicated that the World Cup winner could potentially join the treble winners at the end of the season. But it now appears any decision on his next move isn’t on the horizon.
Spanish media outlet Defensa Central first reported on Manchester City’s interest in signing Kroos. They added that the treble winners intended to offer him double the wages he currently earns at Real Madrid. Furthermore, they report that Kroos was Pep Guardiola’s ideal replacement for Ilkay Gundogan. Gundogan left City on a free transfer for Barcelona this past summer.
It has now been reported Toni Kroos hasn’t made any decision on his future. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports via his exclusive Daily Briefing column that he is undecided on his next move, and he is 100% committed to Real Madrid.
Kroos signed a contract extension with the La Liga giants in June this year. His current deal expires at the end of the 23/24 season. He will be free to sign a pre-contract with a new club during the final 6 months of his current contract.
After being linked with Manchester City, it does appear any potential City move for Kroos is some way off. The German midfielder has previously played under Pep Guardiola during his time at Bayern Munich.
The German international would bring a wealth of experience to the Etihad if a move was to materialise. He has long been regarded as one of the best midfielders in world football during his spells at Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
