Manchester City continue to monitor Dani Olmo according to reports

Manchester City are continuing to monitor RB Leipzig’s star midfielder Dani Olmo according to reports. The treble winners had an interest in signing the Spanish international in the summer. Martin Blackburn of the Sun previously reported on Manchester City’s interest in Olmo during the summer transfer window.

It has been reported by Pete O’Rourke of footballinsider247.com that the European champions are still keen to sign Olmo. O’Rourke adds that City would face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona for the Spanish international.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona also have their eyes on signing RB Leipzig’s star midfielder. Also included in the Mundo Deportivo report is that some of Europe’s biggest clubs are interested in signing Dani Olmo. On top of Barcelona, they add that Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City are monitoring Olmo’s situation at RB Leipzig.

Dani Olmo signed a contract extension with RB Leipzig in the summer. Fabrizio Romano reported that Olmo’s new deal with the DFB Pokal winners included a release clause. In addition to the release clause, Romano added that it is believed to be worth €60 million. The release clause in the RB Leipzig midfielder’s contract becomes active next summer.

With City monitoring Olmo’s situation, he could become a summer target for Pep Guardiola’s side. But they will face stiff competition to land the Spanish midfielder. It also appears any potential move for Olmo won’t happen until next summer.
