Jeremy Doku put in a dazzling display for Belgium on another busy night for Manchester City’s stars on international duty. It was a busy night again with 8 City players featuring for the countries overnight.
Doku was at his sparkling best for Belgium in their 3-2 win over Austria. The winger terrorised the Austrian defence with his dribbling ability and was a constant threat throughout. He added an assist for Belgium’s third goal of the night for Romelu Lukaku. Belgium’s win guaranteed their place at next year’s European Championships.
Portugal also booked their place at next year’s European Championships with a 3-2 win over Slovakia. Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias both played key roles in the Portuguese win.
Bernardo Silva put in a fantastic display for Portugal. He could’ve scored on a couple of occasions in the first half. He was substituted in the 85th minute after a fantastic display.
Ruben Dias was his usual self at the back for the Portuguese. His mere presence was a calming influence at the back as the Portuguese can now prepare for next year’s tournament.
Nathan Ake started for the Netherlands in their 2-1 defeat to France in their Group B Euro 24 qualifying clash. The Manchester City defender got through 79 minutes before being substituted. Kylian Mbappe struck twice for the French to secure their win.
Jack Grealish started for England in their 1-nil friendly win over Australia. Grealish set up the only goal of the night with his assist setting up Ollie Watkins winner. The City winger was substituted on the hour mark after setting up the goal.
John Stones, Kalvin Phillips and Phil Foden all came off the bench in the second half of England’s win. Kyle Walker was an unused substitute for Gareth Southgate’s side.
