Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney recently went Leipzig for Manchester City’s Champions League game against RB Leipzig. Manchester City would beat the DFB Pokal winners 3-1 in their Group G encounter. The trip was set up by TNT Sports as part of their Foreign Exchange segment.
Steven was shown the sights of Leipzig before the game by Leipzig fan Daniel. While RB Leipzig are a relatively new club, it is clear they are a key part of their city. There was also a special appearance from Kevin De Bruyne at the Leipzig zoo.
Daniel and Steven were privileged enough to be able to get pitch side pre-game. The Red Bull Arena was buzzing prior to the game kicking off. The crowd was obviously up for the visit of the European champions.
The treble winners would go on to win the game 3-1. The champions were at their best in the first half before RB Leipzig came back into the game. Goals from Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku late on would secure Pep Guardiola’s side a crucial win.
