Manchester City are hungry for more success this season according to Ruben Dias. The treble winners are determined to add to their trophy cabinet after last season’s success.
Speaking before City’s clash with RB Leipzig, Dias said the treble winner’s players are hungry for success. He told the media: “Most definitely. More beautiful than doing it once is doing it twice, more beautiful than three in a row is four. More beautiful than one Champions League is two in a row and the same goes for the FA Cup. The motivation couldn’t be any higher. We know we’ve done something very special but we’re all very young and hungry to leave a mark.”
City’s defensive leader is also aware that as European champions and treble winners Manchester City has a target on their back. But Dias explained it isn’t a new thing for Pep Guardiola’s side: “I think we’ve had that target before, we still have it now. To come to this club is to know you’ll always have that tag cause everyone wants to beat the best. We feel that the club is growing, people are joining and that’s beautiful to see and be a part of. Like anything else, we need to keep growing and make sure to enjoy the ride while we’re on it.”
As Dias explained it isn’t a new challenge for Manchester City to have a target on their back. Having won three consecutive Premier League titles the champions scalp has been a prized one domestically for some time. Now City’s European opponents will be up for the challenge of beating the European champions.
With such a hungry and determined squad, Manchester City and Ruben Dias will be up for the challenge that comes in Europe this season.
