Manchester City legend Francis Lee passes away at age 79

Manchester City legend Francis Lee has passed away at the age of 79. His passing was announced on the Manchester City official website today.

Francis Lee will go down as one of Manchester City’s greatest-ever players. He made 330 appearances for the club and scored 148 goals. Lee’s time at the club coincided with an era of success. During his playing career at City, he won one First Division title, a European Cup Winners Cup, a League Cup and two Charity Shields. His legacy as a Manchester City places him as one of the club’s greatest-ever players.

Following his playing career he spent 4 spent years as chairman of Manchester City from 1994-98.
