There was praise for his side and the way they went about that game. City dominated the first half but failed to take their chances. Newcastle were deserved winners after their second-half performance. Guardiola praised the home side for their win.
He also had praise for his side and several players. Oscar Bobb was a standout in the first half and stood out in his first start with the City first team. Kalvin Phillips also drew praise from the City manager for his showing. So, it wasn’t all doom and gloom for the treble winners despite the defeat.
