Pep Guardiola has confirmed the injury status of Manchester City’s injured stars. Pep was speaking in his pre-game press conference before City’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.
When asked about the injury status of Jack Grealish, John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne Pep answered: “Jack is coming back, training well and could be ready. Kova is almost ready, the last part of the recovery but now we lost Bernardo for a few days and John and Kev they are still out.”

The City manager also confirmed how long Bernardo Silva would be out for. The Portuguese midfielder went off injured before half-time of the treble winner’s mid-week win over Red Star Belgrade. Pep Guardiola said: “He has a little injury, it’s not anything much. His clinical development is good. But I don’t know, one week, 10 days… one week, two weeks, he will be out.”
With Jack Grealish set to return for this weekend’s game it appears there may be some reinforcements arriving for the European champions. They have suffered a minor injury crisis to begin the season. The good news is most of the injuries have been minor besides Kevin De Bruyne’s long-term hamstring injury. John Stones hasn’t played since the FA Community Shield for the treble winners.
Despite so many injuries, it has been an impressive start to the season by the reigning champions. They have won 5 consecutive games to begin the Premier League season. City also began their UEFA Champions League defence with a win over Red Star Belgrade in mid-week.
