Manchester City 3 West Ham 1. Manchester City player ratings

Manchester City have maintained their perfect start to the Premier League season with a 3-1 win over West Ham at the London Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s side had to come from behind to keep their winning streak rolling. Here are the Manchester City player ratings from the win.

Player Ratings:

Ederson 8/10- The City shot-stopper was crucial at times. He made two crucial saves in the second half to keep the scores level. His save from a Kurt Zouma header was one from the top drawer.

Kyle Walker 7/10- Another stellar display from the City captain. Did his job on the right side of defence and offered a threat going forward.

Ruben Dias 7/10- A typical Dias performance. Was strong at the back and provided the leadership he always does for the champions.

Manuel Akanji 6/10- He was given a torrid time at times by Michail Antonio. Saw off the threat of Antonio when he was substituted.

Josko Gvardiol 6/10- Gvardiol was comfortable in possession but was caught out of position for the Hammers opener. He’s still learning his role at City.

Rodri 8/10- A typical Rodri performance. Broke up play well and offered a threat going forward.

Bernardo Silva 8/10- Scored the winner in a busy display from the midfielder. His finish was quality which is to be expected from Bernardo.

Phil Foden 6/10- Took up some great positions but just wasn’t his day. A couple of blocked shots were the sum of his work before being substituted.

Julian Alvarez 8/10- A busy display from the Argentinean. Two assists and was unlucky not to score when his free kick hit the post. He’s becoming undroppable for Guardiola.

Jeremy Doku 9/10- Man of the match in a dazzling display. Gave Coufal a torrid time on the left. His goal was a fitting reward for Doku’s performance.

Erling Haaland 6.5/10- Haaland grabbed his goal to seal the win late on. His finishing was unusually off and on another day he’d have scored another hat trick.

Substitutes:

Matheus Nunes 6/10- Came on in the 68th minute for Phil Foden. Showed some snippets of what he’s capable of. His run into the box provided Haaland with the space to seal the win.

Sergio Gomez- Not on long enough to mark.

Rico Lewis- Not on long enough to mark.

Oscar Bobb- Not on long enough to mark.

Nathan Ake- Not on long enough to mark.
