Fabrizio Romano reports that Kyle Walker has signed a new deal with City until 2026

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker has signed a new deal with the champions until the end of the 2026 season. It will be welcome news for the treble winners after their perfect start to the Premier League season.

Romano reports that Walker has signed a contract extension until 2026. In addition, he adds that the new contract for Walker will be announced imminently.

There was speculation for much of the summer that the England international could join German giants Bayern Munich. Florian Plettenberg had previously reported that Kyle Walker was keen on a move to the Bundesliga champions.

Sam Lee of the Athletic also reports on the news that Kyle Walker has signed a new deal with the treble winners. He adds that Walker admitted that a move to Bayern Munich was close, but his decision came down to which club could guarantee him the most first-team football.

City’s England international has started every game so far this season. He has also inherited the captaincy after Kevin De Bruyne suffered a hamstring injury in the season opener against Burnley.

The news of Kyle Walker signing a contract extension caps off the European champion’s perfect start to the Premier League season. After a summer that saw 4 new arrivals at the Etihad, plus Bernardo Silva signing a new contract it caps a good summer for Pep Guardiola’s side.
