Another hat trick for Erling Haaland, this time against Fulham capped off a remarkable week for City’s number 9. In a week where he took out the PFA Player of the Year and the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year, he added a hat trick to round out his week.
It’s been a remarkable 12 months for the Norwegian star. Since arriving at the Etihad, he has swept all before him to smash nearly every record available to him. Saturday’s hat trick added yet another to his list. He is now the quickest player to 40 goals in the Premier League. It’s only taken Haaland 39 Premier League appearances to reach the mark.

More importantly during Saturday’s win over Fulham, Haaland’s ruthless streak in front of the goal returned. His radar had been unusually off in City’s wins against Newcastle and Sheffield United. Against Fulham, he was to his usual self with his 3 shots on goal all hitting the back of the net. He also provided an assist for Julian Alvarez to open the scoring for City in the first half. It was a performance that was Erling Haaland at his devastating best.

City’s number 9 has now scored 6 goals in 4 Premier League games this season. It’s the same tally he had registered at this point last season. If he continues this season like he did last campaign, he will be adding more awards to his collection by the season’s end.
