The 19-year-old centre-back will soon put pen to paper in a bid to join the Blues. Sources close to the club insist that he is a top talent, who will join the Elite Development Squad.
Baptiste also features for the England unders, making just 13 appearances at different levels.
Given that he has been with West Ham since childhood, a move to Manchester will be a big one.
However, it is arguably a career move that he cannot refuse. The level of development and coaching at the home of the Blues is second to none at all levels.
While the youth generally find success across Europe, there is a blueprint for seeking success with the Manchester City first team.
