Manchester City were awarded a penalty during the first half against Sheffield United for an Egan handball.
Haaland stepped up, however he missed his penalty and the opportunity to put the Blues in the lead.
City already had a goal disallowed for offside following a freekick converted by Nathan Ake.
Sheffield United have frustrated the Blues during the first half with the score line flattering to the home side.
