Phil Foden on the bench as Man City line-up to face Sheffield United

Manchester City are set to follow stand-in Head Coach, Juanma Lillio, into battle at Bramall Lane; as the Boys in Blue take on Sheffield United.

The Blues have been missing a number of personnel during the opening weeks of the season. While Guardiola watches on from Barcelona following minor back surgery, Lillo will lead from the touch-line.

However, there are key players out of action through injury too. It has been well reported that De Bruyne will miss out until 2024 and Stones will not return before the international break.

Foden was a doubt due to illness earlier in the week, however he does appear on the bench.

ManCity.com have confirmed that Manuel Akanji is “not fully fit”, therefore he has not travelled with the squad. He will be replaced in defence by the colossal Nathan Ake.

The Blues are aiming for their third consecutive win, hoping to be the only team to not drop points at this early stage.

Starting for the Blues today is:

Ederson, Walker (C), Dias, Ake, Gvardiol, Rodri, Kovacic, Bernardo, Grealish, Alvarez and Haaland.

While new signing Jeremy Doku features on the bench for the first time.

It will be a tough game away from home against newly promoted Sheffield United.

Come on, City!
