Manchester City look to have found another special player in Josko Gvardiol. The new signing from RB Leipzig has shone in his first three starts for the treble winners, culminating in his best performance for City so far against Sheffield United.
The Croatian international looks right at home in Pep Guardiola’s squad. His poise in possession was evident in the European champions hard fought 2-1 win over a determined Blades outfit. When called upon in defense Gvardiol did his job and showed why the champions were so keen to secure his services. It was easily the best performance of Gvardiol’s brief stint at the club.
Gvardiol has settled in on the left-hand side of defense since getting into the starting lineup. With more performances like the one against Sheffield United, it will only be a matter of time before the Croatian international makes the position his own.
It was clear to all how good Josko Gvardiol was before arriving at the Etihad. He came to the club rated as one of the best young defenders in world football. After making his first three starts for the club, it’s clear he is cut out for life at the treble winners. It takes a special player to slot straight into Pep Guardiola’s set-up, and Gvardiol has set about that task since his arrival.

While it’s only early days in his spell at the club, Manchester City look to have found another special player in Josko Gvardiol to compliment their all-conquering lineup.
