Man City receive fitness boost ahead of Sheffield United clash

Manchester City have been given a squad boost ahead of their trip to Bramall Lane on Sunday where they will meet newly promoted Sheffield United.

Following multiple injuries, the Blues have been low on personnel. While both Stones and De Bruyne face lengthy spells on the side lines, Bernardo Silva had been missing from the squad.

However, Bernardo has trained fully ahead of the weekend. Which will be a huge boost to the Blues.

Lillo confirmed during media duties today as reported by ManCity.com:

“Perhaps it’s a question more for the doctor but he has trained fully normal. I don’t think he’s ill at all and is good to go.”

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola will be watching from his home in Barcelona following minor back surgery. With his second in command, Juanma Lillo taking charge of training and our two upcoming fixtures.

Guardiola will not return until after the international break. Meaning that Lillo will be stepping up for clashes with Sheffield United away, and Fulham at home.

Having Bernardo back will be crucial. Despite the Blues claiming three victories since the beginning of the season, they have had limited options from the bench.

But we will also see new signing Doku on Sunday which is another boost to the squad. Albeit, he will likely start on the bench.
