Crystal Palace have set an asking price for midfielder Eberechi Eze as Manchester City considers a bid for the England international it has been reported. City are in the market for midfield reinforcements before the summer transfer window closes on September 1st.
Dom Smith and Nizaar Kinsella report for the Standard that Palace is set to ask for a huge fee for Eze. They report that the Eagles will ask for no lower than £70 million for the England international. In addition, they add that City are considering a move for the Palace star after withdrawing their interest in West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta. The Paqueta deal collapsed after the Brazilian international became the subject of a betting investigation by the FA.

Furthermore, Smith and Kinsella add that Palace would expect a sizable transfer fee for Eze. Especially after losing star winger Wilfred Zaha on a free transfer to Galatasaray.
With Crystal Palace setting their price for their star midfielder, it will be a case of watching this space regarding a potential City bid. It’s no secret that Manchester City are in the market for more depth in their midfield. This is especially the case after the long-term injury suffered by Kevin De Bruyne.
