Manchester City have submitted a bid for Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes it has been reported. The treble winners are in the market for a midfielder after Kevin De Bruyne suffered a serious hamstring injury in the season opener against Burnley.
David Ornstein of the Athletic first reported that the European champions were exploring a move for the midfielder. In addition, he reports that Wolves are unlikely to welcome City’s interest in their star man so late in the window. Furthermore, he adds that they do need the funds to reinvest in their squad ahead of the window closing.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester City have submitted an official bid for the midfielder. He adds that the bid is over €50 million with add-ons. Furthermore, he adds that personal terms between Nunes and the champions have been agreed ahead of a potential move.

Matheus Nunes has made 41 appearances for Wolves since arriving at the club from Sporting Lisbon. He’s added one goal and one assist in those appearances. He’s also a Portuguese international having made 11 appearances for his country.
With a bid for Nunes submitted it appears that City have found the midfielder they needed to fill the squad.
