(Video) Manchester City stalwart Aymeric Laporte set to join Al Nassr

Esteemed Kompany host Steve Mcinerney reacts to the news that Aymeric Laporte is set to join Al Nassr.

Laporte has agreed on a deal with Al Nassr as reported by Fabrizio Romano. He will join the Saudi Pro League club in a deal valued around £25.6 million Talksport adds.

The Spanish defender has been a key player during his time with the European champions. He has made 180 appearances for City and added 12 goals in his spell with the champions. He saw his playing time reduced last season, and Josko Gvardiol’s arrival has pushed Laporte further down the pecking order.

His heroics at the back end of the 21/22 season ensured Manchester City secured the Premier League title. They pipped Liverpool to the crown in an epic title race.

Steve Mcinerney looks at what the news means going forward for City as Laporte prepares for a move to the Gulf state.
