Lucas Paqueta deal on the verge of collapsing

Manchester City’s bid for West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is on the verge of collapsing according to multiple reports.

Talksport has reported that West Ham is demanding a fee of over £85 million. In addition, Talksport adds that City’s first offer of £70 million was rejected by the London club.

Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports also reports on the news that the Paqueta deal could be off. He reports that the deal is on hold and adds there is a 90% chance that the deal won’t happen.

Journalist Alan Nixon through his Patreon channel has claimed that the deal between City and West Ham for Paqueta is off. He cites confidentiality issues as the main reason for the deal between the clubs to be off.

With Lucas Paqueta being reported as a priority target for the remainder of the window by Fabrizio Romano, the news of the deal for Paqueta collapsing is a potential blow for City. The Premier League champions are in the market for another midfielder after the long-term injury of Kevin De Bruyne.

Lucas Paqueta has been the rumored target. If the deal has indeed collapsed Manchester City may face a scramble to find another suitable target with only two weeks remaining in the window.
