Manchester City are likely to press ahead with their move for West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta it has been reported. With the news Kevin De Bruyne is likely out until the new year, the treble winners do need more creativity in midfield to fill the void.
Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail has broken the news of City launching a fresh bid for the Brazilian international. After seeing their opening offer rebuffed, Gaughan’s report indicates that the champions are ready to test West Ham’s resolve with another bid.

Reports have previously indicated that City have identified Paqueta as a priority target. Fabrizio Romano broke the news that Paqueta, in addition to Jeremy Doku are the champions priority targets this window. He additionally reports that the European champions intend to return with another bid in the next 24/48 hours.

After Kevin De Bruyne’s injury update, the need to secure Paqueta’s services has become a pressing one for Manchester City.
