Jeremy Doku close to agreeing terms with Manchester City

Rennes winger Jeremy Doku is close to agreeing personal terms with Manchester City according to reports overnight.

The Belgian international has become a target for the treble winners since Riyad Mahrez left the club. City are in the market for a replacement winger to bolster their squad ahead of the transfer window closing.

It’s reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano that the treble winners have been working on a deal for Doku since the beginning of August. He adds that the negotiations between the player and Manchester City are at an advanced stage. Romano further adds that Doku and Lucas Paqueta are the champion’s priority targets before the transfer window closes.

Belgian football reporter Sacha Tavolieri also reports via Twitter of personal terms between Doku and Manchester City almost being agreed. Further reported by Tavolieri is personal terms should be agreed by the end of the weekend. He adds that his club Rennes are expecting a bid early next week for his services. He also reports that a fee for the winger’s services could end up being between €55-60 million.

With the potential move for Jeremy Doku gathering pace, the treble winners are seemingly closing in on a winger to add to their ranks. A speedy winger with ability to go past defenders will be a welcome boost to Manchester City’s squad if the deal does materialise.
