Pep Guardiola has spoken with the media following Manchester City’s 3-nil win over Burnley. The champion’s title defense began in the right manner with three points against the newly promoted side.
The City boss praised the mentality of his side during the season-opening win. He also admitted his side wasn’t up to their usual standards, but being the start of a new season that will come.
He also spoke on Erling Haaland’s brace to begin the new campaign. Despite Haaland’s opening-day brace, there was a discussion between Pep and Haaland as the teams left the pitch at half-time. Guardiola elaborated on this moment during his press duties.
Pep Guardiola also gave an update on the injury suffered by Kevin De Bruyne. City’s captain limped off early in the first half, which was the only downside of City’s victory.
